Screen Filler, getting ready for the 4th and final color

3rd color down!

Well, again I still had some registration problems. I think when I do this with my students, we will be doing 2 colors max. 4 colors leads to too many variables. Removing the screen filler is a process to say the least. I have to let it soak for-ev-er, and then scrub and scrub. Meanwhile, my screen is not tight anymore. I handled the screens at The Dolphin Studios and they are as tight as a drum. Mine are not, and besides from taking a tool and pushing down the cotton cord that is between the screen and the frame, I really don't know what else to do.

This part is NOT fun

Alice's Restaurant

Tired tonight. Too tired to do anything except lay here and watch Alice's Restaurant. Always seems appropriate since we live and work in Berkshire County. Luckily, I found a scene in the movie that I have use in my research (maybe, kinda, sort-of). There they are, silk screening Trinity Racing Association t-shirts in the Trinity church that Alice & Ray bought. You'll have to watch it to see what I'm talking about, since I'm too tired to take go photo of my tv.

Did a few with the extended green filler part of the screen extended a tiny bit further. Looked worse because of leaking where I didn't tape right. Ho hum. Also, tonight I worked on the screen filler part of the 3rd color. yup.

Because registration was off. Or rather, the second screen was off and a bit bigger than the yellow screen.

It's going Okay....

So, I want it to go perfectly. As a perfectionist, I expect nothing less. But, whatever I guess. Its' handmade, so can it always be perfect? And furthermore, do I always need to strive for perfection? Ducks in a row?
My registration is off. Seems like I have too much screen filler on both sides. So, I did print a bunch, but will also adjust the screen printer and try again tomorrow, or very early this week as I am running out of time here!!!

Yes, another post tonight. Only because I realized that I have pinholes and needed a second coat of screen filler. And since I'm supposed to be documenting EVERYTHING, here ya go.
